Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America, is an actor as well as a performer. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), Nurse, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen is Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen found her talent in entertainment at an early stage of her life. Her role was as Raggedy Ann in 1992 after going to the first audition. Bell was contacted by an agent by her mother at the age of 13 and was cast as a model on advertisements on television and newspapers. Along with having private lessons in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell was credited with a minor part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a member of the drama and music club of Shrine Catholic High School. When her school staged a stage production The Wizard of Oz, Bell was chosen to play Dorothy. Bell studied in musical theater at the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts located in New York City after graduating. Bell left the university in 2001 to take on the role Becky of Tom Sawyer. In the was the same year that she also made her first credited debut as Pootie Tang. Pootie Tang (2001), but her scene was cut and her character was not shown in the credit sequence. Bell was part of the Broadway revival The Crucible starring Liam Neeson & Angela Bettis.
