She served as captain of the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she took home a gold in the team competition, making her and her teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans who have won back-to-back team gold medals. Raisman also took home silver medals in the individual all-around and for floor exercise. She is the third most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, behind Shannon Miller and Simone Biles and has won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also a member of the gold-winning American teams in the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships on floor exercise in the year 2011. She is also a two time national champion in floor exercise (2012 and 2015) and was the champion of the national team in balance beam in the year 2012. She also is five times medalist in the national all-around championships (silver and bronze in 2010 2011, 2012 and 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
