
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain of the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. The team made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to be part of the team of the nation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runner-up. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists in the same year, becoming the sixth the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
